I see African American people sitting around a rundown coat store. There are all dressed in suits and they are sitting in the hot sun waiting for customers.
What do you notice first?
The first thing I notice is the store. It shows that there is poverty because the store is not all dolled up.
What people and objects are shown?
The people that are shown there are all African American men. There are steps where the men are sitting. The other objects that are shown are: the car, and the store. The car is just on the edge. The store has newspapers everywhere to show how much things cost and what shows are in town.

I think this image was made to show how people worked during The Great Depression and to show that there wasn't much business going on at the time.

I think this was made in the 1960's because these days, men don't wear suits and sit around waiting for customers outside of their stores and the cars changed a lot since that time.

In this picture, I see three people trying to harvest their crops, or clean around the field so that their crops will grow better.
What other details can you see?
I see that the people are wearing hats which must mean that they are working in the hot sun. It must be hard for them to work in the hot weather because they are wearing clothes that may keep them hot. For example, the man is wearing a long sleeve shirt and long pants. it must be too hot for him to be able to work in that weather.

From examining this image, I can see how hard a family worked together for their crops. It shows that they worked together as a team to get their work done and to grow their crops in order for them to have food to eat.

If someone made this today, the thing that would be different is that there would be machinery that would replace the hoes they are using and the people would be wearing shorts. Also, there would probably only be men in the fields.

I see a town and how it would look like back in the days. I can see that there are many stores all along the street. I see people by the stores and this man walking in the middle of the street. I also see cars all parked in front of the stores.
What do you notice first?
The first thing I notice is the big building next to the Grady Lawless & CO store. I am thinking that it might be a hotel. For some reason that picture just stands out to me. The other thing I noticed is that the road is paved.
What people and objects are shown?
The people that are shown are people on the "boardwalk" by the stores and this man walking in the middle of the street. i am thinking that the man might've gone to his car from work because he looks like he is wearing work clothes. The other things I see in this picture are the cars. i can see that they are very old.

What can you learn from examining this image?
The thing that I learned for examining this image is that people seem close. Since the stores are also so close together I can see that people are all talking to eachother and I would guess that they all know eachother. These days, when you go to a store, you just go buy your stuff and keep to yourself.

If someone made this today, the thing that would be different are the cars. They would be more advanced and nicer looking. Also, the stores would not be lined up like that. They would be all spread out or there would be a mall. Also, the people wouldn't be talking to eachother and the hotel would be bigger and better looking.

The thing that I notice first is the door that says white ladies only. This shows that this was the part of town where only white people lived.

The people that are shown are white ladies. The obgjects that are shown are nice clean cars and bikes.

What I can learn from this image is that the colored people stayed where they were obligated to stay and they kept to themselves. Evem if they were the same race, I noticed that they aren't really talking.

If someone made this today, the things that would be different are that there would be both white and colored people together and they would be talking while waiting for the bus. It would be more crowded than it is in the picture.
